The Keret House

Barbie loves her skinny jeans and there's always a better way to flex your thin muscles. How about something far better than fashion? Then you'll love the narrowest of houses with the fabulous flair and beauty of a traditional home... Barbie does!

The Keret House

The Keret House designed by Jakub Szczęsny of Warsaw-based studio Centrala,  is the narrowest “house” ever built, possibly, in the entire world.

Its a two story structure that is one part art installation and one part sustainable residence. The Keret House is named after Israeli writer and filmmaker Etgar Keret. According to Polish law, the Keret House is too narrow & small to be a legal residence, which is why it’s fallen under the classification of  “art installation”.

This minimalist house comes with a kitchen, a bedroom and a bathroom.

At its narrowest it measures 3.02 ft and 4.99 feet at its widest. This accounts for a total of 44 square feet.

“It’s something that is very, very compact” said Keret, “but it has in it all the stuff that a house needs.”

Would you live in The Keret House?

Barbie would!

Enjoy! Kisses, m.
