Barbie loves catching up with her favorite Ken when he returns from living life because he always has a great tale to tell! While Barbie is often very busy like her favorite Dolls and Kens, she admits it's always fun to catch up. Even if there's been a misunderstanding between you for a minute. That's life though. You zig when you should zag with your favorites and guess what? You miss each other completely. Oh well that's why you're friends in the end. Remember being busy doesn't mean you rush around frantically but it does mean you take kamikaze adventures without thinking of tomorrow's consquences and this includes making time to catch up with your friends. Zig-zagging may not always work for people. But you know what? Zig-zags make for great esses in architecture. And this beautiful house expresses the most amazingly unique yet simplistic and essential esses!


S-House by Yuusuke Karasawa Architects

The S-House is a relatively small house constructed in a residential area in Saitama. Two floors cross over two levels. Each level is quartered, where the two opposing floors are elevated. The eaves surrounding the middle section around the ceiling of the other two floors intertwine with the elevated floors. The overall space creates a complicated web characterized by open air.  The raised floors of the levels reach the diagonal wall, and adjoin to the floors above. The floors branch out andcontinue above, staggering to create a uniquely intricate elevation. The complexity of the elevation extends throughout the interior space as well. The floors entwine diagonally, opening to look out to the opposing space formed at the center of interconnected floor.
