The Heliotrope: The World's First Energy Positive Solar Home

Barbie knows that getting a little bit of light is fabulous and a excess of great light leads to wonderful things. The best use for all that extra light is to power yourself a beautiful dream house.

The Heliotrope: The World's First Energy Positive Solar Home

What would you do if your dream house was a great ball of energy? Well ponder that thought no more because it is a reality. The Heliotrope designed by Rolf Disch is a rotating solar powered home. It is the seed of inspiration for Sonnenschiff Solar Development and pushes the modern solar movement in Germany. The home operates by rotating with the sun to maximize full advantages of daylight to enter the home. The windows are triple-paned and the home is equipped with a large roof-mointed solar array and thermal pipes. The result of all this solar powers is the creation of the world's first zero-energy homes because it generates up to 5x the energy it consumes. (via/inhabitant)

Would you live in The Heliotrope?

Barbie would!
Enjoy!
Kisses, m.
