will my eyes be closed or open?

e live on a mountain
right at the top
there's a beautiful view
from the top of the mountain
every morning I walk towards the edge
and throw little things off
like: car-parts, bottles and cutlery
or whatever I find lying around

it's become a habit
a way
to start the day

I go through all this
before you wake up
so I can feel happier
to be safe up here with you

it's real early morning
no-one is awake
I'm back at my cliff, still throwing things off
I listen to the sounds they make
on their way down
I follow with my eyes 'til they crash
imagine what my body would sound like
slamming against those rocks

and when it lands
will my eyes be closed or open?

I go through all this
before you wake up
so I can feel happier
to be safe up here with you

Hyperballad - Bjork

"Basically, 'Hyper-ballad' is about having this kind of bag going on and three years have passed and you're not high anymore. You have to make an effort consciously and nature's not helping you anymore. So you wake up early in the morning and you sneak outside and you do something horrible and destructive, break whatever you can find, watch a horrible film, read a bit of William Burroughs, something really gross and come home and be like, 'Hi honey, how are you?'." Bjork.

I was discussing this track (cause its my favorite Bjork track), with a friend (travis, who agrees), the other night and we were fascinated that she's at this cliff just destroying whatever she can find. Eventually satisfying this insatiable urge. The song is beautiful. This all comes back to my need to break things to ... I'm still craving a bit of carnage at the moment. Since the Mason Proper video I haven't been able to get the idea of tossing things off a building or something out of my head. It's just that I've always wanted to do that and WHY NOT? By no means am I a performance artist, but this is something that I NEED TO DO. So... I'm looking into it. kisses. m.
